EMERGENCY ROAD WORKS AT ROBERT VILLAGE, TABLELAND

The Ministry of Works and Transport has noted the deteriorating road conditions at Naparima Mayaro Road, 28.7km mark, Robert Village, Tableland as a result of a landslip.

Previous intermediary repair works was completed in August, 2019 to stabilize the road. During the past week there has been significant movement of the land and the formation of a large depression, which has affected the passage of all vehicles.

The Ministry of Works and Transport is currently conducting temporary roadworks to the affected area by widening the opposite side of the road. This emergency intervention will allow continued access to the road and reduce traffic.

Permanent slope stabilization work and road restoration is expected to commence in January 2021.
Please be guided accordingly.
