All Public Transport/Public Service Vehicles To Operate at a 50% Passenger Seating Capacity with Imm

In the ongoing national response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Honourable Stuart Young, Minister of National Security, announced at a Press Conference held on Friday 27th March, 2020 that with immediate effect, all licensed public transport/ public service vehicles are to operate at a 50% passenger seating capacity. This new measure applies to the following public transport/ public service vehicles:

* PTSC Buses;
* Maxi Taxis;
* Omni Buses;
* Water Taxis;
* Taxis or Vehicles for Hire and
* Inter-Island Ferry Vessels 

 

The Ministry of Works and Transport will continue to monitor the status of this global health pandemic in Trinidad and Tobago’s circumstances. Citizens are asked to note the overarching guidelines for the operation of Public Transport during this period. The primary intent of the Ministry is to continue to serve the nation with as minimal disruption as possible. Our valuable clients and the many communities we serve remain our number one priority during this trying time. Citizens are urged to practice social responsibility as we collectively navigate our country through this pandemic

Commuters are encouraged to comply with social distancing guidelines and the 50% seating capacity while seeking public transport.
