The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wishes to advise the general public that a Bailey Bridge has been installed on Alma Trace Extension in Reform Village, Gasparillo. The installation of this structure is a traffic alleviation measure as the bridge now serves as a link to Bonne Aventure Road from the Guaracara Tabaquite Road.

The Bailey Bridge was installed using in-house labour from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure as the employees from the Bridges Branch-South spear-headed this project. The bridge was installed in in six days, beginning on Friday 5th July and ending on Wednesday 10th July and the cost was approximately $67, 000.

Commuters will now cut their travelling time by one third as a journey that usually took half of an hour or more, especially during peak periods, has been reduced to ten minutes. Residents have expressed their pleasure and the new bridge has become the talk of the area.

Councillor of the Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation, the late Feraz Ali, provided invaluable assistance on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government as he obtained material as well as procured a location for a stockpile in which the bridge parts and material were stored.
