The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wishes to advise the public of the following regulations of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, Chap. 48:50 which will commence in the Borough of Arima on Monday 10th August, 2015 and expire on Monday 9th November, 2015:

     No parking will be permitted in the following locations on the given days:

  • Western side of De Graff Street, (between Pro De Verteuil Street and Cocorite Road) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays;
  • Eastern side of De Graff Street, (between Pro De Verteuil Street and Cocorite Road) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Further to this, motor vehicles shall proceed along De Graff Street, (between Pro DeVerteuil Street and Cocorite Road,) in a southerly direction only.         

Any persons in breach of the aforementioned will become liable on summary conviction for a first offence to a fine of $750.00 and on any subsequent conviction to a fine of $1000.00. Without prejudice to any other liability incurred by the commission of a summaryoffence, vehicles found parked in contravention of these Regulations may beremoved by the Police and impounded and dealt with in accordance with section108(1)(b) of the Motor Vehicles andRoad Traffic Act.

These changes were made by the Commissioner of Police with the consent of the Minister ofWorks and Infrastructure under section 67(1) the Motor Vehicles and RoadTraffic Act).
