Breakfast River Officially Opened

MOWT COMMISSIONS THREE NEW BRIDGES IN TOCO

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport officially commissioned three bridges along the Toco Main Road on Tuesday 14th March, 2023. These include the B1/22 (Breakfast River Bridge), B 1/1 (Galera Bridge) and B1/24 (Cumana Bridge).

These newly constructed bridges are set to improve connectivity for commuters travelling to and from Grand Toco, Grande Riviere, Sans Souci, Matelot and surrounding areas. The improvement in accessibility has also ultimately enhanced safety, mobility and the quality of life for residents, motorists and pedestrians.

The Ministry is pleased to highlight that  the successful completion of these three bridges for the community of Toco signals:

  • Safer and more efficient movement of two-way traffic.
  • Increased bridge span capacity to accommodate larger volumes of water during heavy rainfall to mitigate flooding
  • Optimized safety for travellers on foot with a pedestrian sidewalk.
