The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has completed culvert repair works at the corner of Grants Road and the Southern Main Road in Rousillac, with the roadway now fully reopened to traffic. Using in-house resources, Ministry teams reconstructed the culvert base, carried out remedial works to the walls, installed the top slab and completed masonry, asphaltic and drain cleaning works. To fully restore use of the roadway, the Traffic Management Branch of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation added fresh road markings to improve roadway safety and navigation for motorists and pedestrians.
The completed project is expected to bring major benefits to the surrounding community by improving water flow through the area and reducing the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall. With the culvert fully repaired and blocked drains cleared, residents and commuters can now experience safer, smoother and more reliable access along this important route. The upgraded crossing also improves connectivity for drivers, pedestrians and nearby businesses, while enhancing the overall resilience and functionality of the roadway network in Rousillac.
