The Mamoral 6.1 km Slope Stabilisation Project has now been successfully completed, marking a major milestone in restoring safety and resilience along this critical roadway. Following a sudden landslip that disrupted access and posed risks to residents and motorists, the Ministry’s Highways Division mobilised to execute emergency stabilisation and rehabilitation works.
The project scope included:
- Construction of a gabion basket retaining wall to secure the affected slope
- Installation of critical drainage infrastructure to better manage runoff;
- Full road rehabilitation and paving works to restore driving conditions along the corridor.
With these upgrades in place, the Mamoral roadway is now stable, durable and better equipped to withstand future weather impacts. The completed works improve safety for motorists, enhance everyday connectivity for the surrounding community. Residents and road users can now benefit from smoother, more reliable access, while the strengthened infrastructure supports long-term serviceability and confidence in the route.
