Naparima Mayaro Road Slope Stabilisation

The Programme for Upgrading Roads Efficiency (PURE) Unit has been diligently advancing slope stabilisation works along the Naparima Mayaro Road at the 30.4 km mark, and the project is now nearing completion. Over the past weeks, the team successfully constructed a retaining wall, carried out full road rehabilitation, and completed paving of the affected stretch. With these major components finalised, the final steps will be the painting of permanent road markings, bringing the project to completion.

These improvements significantly bolster the safety and resilience of this critical route, especially during periods of heavy rainfall when slope instability poses heightened risks. By strengthening the roadway and enhancing its structural integrity, the project delivers lasting benefits to surrounding communities, motorists and commuters, ensuring reliable connectivity for all.
