The Elmina Clarke-Allen Highway, a 7-kilometer stretch of highway that links seamlessly links Cumuto to Sangre Grande. Named to honour the esteemed former Toco/Manzanilla MP, Elmina Clarke-Allen, this highway is more than just a road; it stands as a vital artery for communities, a spark for economic prosperity, and a shining emblem of the nation’s unwavering dedication to progress. Constructed by the Ministry of Works and Transport and the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO), this highway is poised to transform the journey across north eastern Trinidad and the impacts of it will resonate for generations to come.
Scope of Works:
The first phase of construction entailed approximately 5km of a 4-lane highway built to international standards and approximately 1.9km of a 2-lane connector road including upgrade works to existing roadways.
