Desilting and Cleaning Works Along the Beetham Highway (1)

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure’s Highways Division recently carried out desilting and cleaning works on a major waterway beneath the NP Overpass along the Beetham Highway. The works involved removing accumulated silt, debris and other material from the waterway to restore its capacity, improve water flow and support the effective functioning of the surrounding drainage network.

These works will benefit Beetham and surrounding communities by improving drainage and helping to reduce the risk of flooding, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall.

The Ministry is also encouraging members of the public to support these efforts by keeping litter and other waste out of drains and waterways, as responsible waste disposal plays an important role in keeping drainage systems clear and protecting communities from flooding.
