Today, (03rd September 2023) the Ministry of Works and Transport is pleased to announce the partial opening of 8km of the roadway of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway Extension to Point Fortin, between Delhi Road and Southern Main Road, Vessigny.
Access to this section of the Highway, which will directly connect San Fernando to La Brea, will bring immediate benefit to road users as it is set to improve vehicular flow and reduce congestion.
The commitment to facilitate greater connectivity made by Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport to the Point Fortin Taxi Drivers Association is timely as we approach the start of the new school term.
Commuters and motorists are now able to benefit from this completed section of the Highway, while work continues on the new section which will connect La Brea to the Dunlop Roundabout in Point Fortin.
