The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure is making steady progress toward completing the Chaguanas to Chase Village segment of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Widening Project.
Once completed, commuters can expect the following upgrades:
- An additional lane to ease traffic flow
- A new layby and pedestrian walkway for safer stops and easier access into Chaguanas
- A retaining wall system built to modern standards
- Supporting kerb and slipper drains to manage run-off, reduce the risk of flooding and prevent ponding
This project is 83% completed and is designed to deliver safer, smoother and more efficient commutes for the thousands of motorists and road users who rely on this roadway daily.
