Morvant Junction to Maritime Roundabout Road Project 45% Complete

The Ministry of Works and Transport is pleased to announce that works on the Morvant to Maritime Roundabout Road Infrastructure Project is approximately 45% complete.
 
This project which is being executed by the Programme for Upgrading Roads Efficiency (P.U.R.E.) Unit spans from the Lady Young Avenue, off Lady Young Road, to the Maritime Roundabout.

Extension on The Vehicle Transfers And The Validity Of Certain Documents Issued By The Licensing Division

(1) The validity of the Driver’s permits, taxi driver licences, badges, certificates or other documents issued by the Licensing Division which would otherwise have been due to expire on or before September 30, 2021 are now deemed to be valid up to October 01, 2021; and

(2) The timeframe for the completion of any transfer of vehicle registration – that is, any transfer of vehicle registration required to be completed on or before September 30, 2021 may be completed on or before October 01, 2021.

Renewal of Route 2 Maxi Taxi PBR Permits for 2021

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise all holders of Route 2 Maxi Taxi Priority Bus Route (PBR) Permits, that Maxi Taxi renewal for the year 2021- Two periods Jan - June & July - Dec will be held from April 6, 2021 to April 23, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for two renewal periods.

Integrated Water Resources and Coastal Symposium 2021

The Integrated Water Resources and Coastal Symposium 2021 will be hosted by the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT), Coastal Protection Unit (CPU) in partnership with the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), Water Resources Agency (WRA), of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
The symposium will be held on March 17th-19th, 2021 from 8AM to 4PM.

The event will gather delegates from across the Caribbean in order to nurture a robust, collaborative environment for the sharing of knowledge, lessons learned, and technological advancements and methodologies within the fields of coastal zone and water resources management in the region.

Ultimately, the symposium strives to stimulate scientific discussions that will lead to progressive and appropriate recommendations within the fields of focus. In so doing, it is anticipated that the IWRCS will serve as a catalyst for formulating developmental plans, updating policies, and crafting public investment projects and initiatives in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean.

Extension of Three Month Moratorium on Enforcement of the New Windscreen and Window Tint Regulations

Given the far-reaching impact of this initiative and concerted efforts by the general public to become compliant with the new regulations, the Ministry of Works and Transport has taken a decision to extend the moratorium on the enforcement of the new Windscreen and Window Tint Regulations, 2020 by an additional period of three months, commencing from March 07th 2021 and expiring on June 6th 2021.
