Extension of the Validity of Expired Driving Permits

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise members of the public of recent amendments to sections 19 (7) and 61B (1) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 48:50 (MVRTA). The amendments were brought into operation by section 25(a) and (b) of the Miscellaneous Amendments (No. 2) Act, 2020. The Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Extension of Time for the Validity of Certain Documents) Order, 2020 signed by the Minister of Works and Transport, the Honourable Rohan Sinanan on the 14th day of September 2020 further extended the validity of drivers permits, taxi driver licences, badges, certificates or other documents issued by the Licensing Division which expired on or before 31st August, 2020 to be deemed valid until 31st December, 2020.

Downloadable Licensing Forms are Now Available Online!

The Ministry of Works and Transport’s  wishes to inform members of the public that downloadable forms can now be accessed via Website 
https://www.mowt.gov.tt. Citizens who have successfully completed booking their licensing appointments are encouraged to download, print and complete the respective forms and bring along the accompanying documents to complete their transactions at the Licensing Offices.
