RESUMPTION OF VEHICLE INSPECTION AT WRIGHTSON ROAD LICENSING OFFICE

The Licensing Division of the Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that the licensing service for the inspection of vehicles 6,000 kg MGW and up will resume at the Wrightson Road Licensing Office effective Friday 02^nd February, 2024.

Not Paid Nor Contested Fixed Penalty Notices November 2021- December 2022

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise drivers who have NOT PAID nor CONTESTED Fixed Penalty Notices (Traffic Tickets) issued during the periods November 1-30, 2021 and January 1 - December 31, 2022 that under the provisions of Section 88A of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 2017 (Act No. 9 of 2017), the Licensing Authority intends to impose administrative sanctions against the drivers of the motor vehicles used in the commission of the traffic violations.

Within the past two years, the Ministry has been cognisant of an increased demand to access licensing services nationwide. To treat with this issue, which resulted from the complex challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry implemented a number of initiatives geared toward reducing the backlog within the system.
