The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the public that there will be an adjustment to the temporary traffic disruption at Bridge B 1/38 Eastern Main Road, Valencia in the vicinity of the 37.2km mark. This has become necessary to continue emergency repairs at the bridge. This adjustment will be in effect from Friday 24th March, 2023 and is expected to end Saturday 01st April, 2023.
As such, the public is advised to be aware of the following:
The Eastern Main Road between the Valencia Roundabout and the Valencia Bypass Roundabout will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 9:00am to 3:00pm during the abovementioned time period;
- Only local traffic will be allowed between the roundabouts;
- Outside of these hours, the roadway will be reopened to vehicular traffic with one-lane restrictions within the work zone as stipulated in the Public Notice dated 21st March, 2023;
- Heavy vehicles (i.e., trucks facilitating the transport of quarry material, trailers carrying construction equipment, etc.) are asked to utilise alternative routes, namely, Silica Road, Antigua Road and/or Cumuto Road;
- Members of the public are kindly asked to follow all instructions from Traffic Control Officers on-site to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic;
- Be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site.
