On Wednesday 22nd January, 2020, the Ministry of Works and Transport launched the UTurn System Revolutionary Enforcement Project. These legislative amendments to the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, Ch. 48:50 by Act No. 9 of 2017, allow for the implementation of the Demerit Points System, the New Fixed Penalty Traffic Ticketing System and the Red Light Camera Enforcement System.
