Closure of the Caroni Licensing Office - August 30th, 2023

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that due to a utility challenge on the Caroni Licensing compound, the Office will be closed from 10:00 a.m. today, Wednesday 30th August, 2023. Normal hours of operation will resume on Friday 01st September, 2023.

The Ministry Responds to Protest Action on the Manzanilla Mayaro Road

The Ministry of Works and Transport is aware of the protest action undertaken on the Manzanilla Mayaro Road today, Monday, 7th August 2023. At the protest, concerns were expressed about the pace of ongoing work and the removal of equipment from the project site. Given the above, the Ministry would like to take this opportunity to provide some context and clarity on the ongoing project. On Friday, 28th of July 2023, works officially commenced on a permanent solution for the Manzanilla Mayaro Road.

MOWT Proposes Comprehensive Measures to Alleviate Traffic Congestion in Chaguanas

On Monday 10th July 2023, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport, Senator the Honourable Richie Sookhai, Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport, and an executive team met with members of the Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce and other members of the business community. At the meeting, both parties explored potential collaborative measures to address traffic management issues in the Chaguanas Borough and surrounding areas.
