MOWT on Ocean Flower 2

The Ministry of Works and Transport is cognisant of the presence of the Ocean Flower 2 passenger vessel in the waters of Trinidad and Tobago and wishes to advise the public that its presence is related to a dry docking exercise being undertaken by its owner. The presence of the vessel in T&T is not related to the terminated contract between the Ministry and the owner of the vessel.

MOWT Mobilises technical team to assist in light of flash flooding

Minister of Works and Transport, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan will visit Port of Spain following the conclusion of his tour of the constituency of Siparia. Minister Sinanan will conduct first hand preliminary assessments of several areas adversely affected by the torrential downpours and flash flooding experienced in Port of Spain and environs, shortly after lunch today.

MOWT to Provide Temporary Relief to Garth Road, Princes Town

The Ministry of Works and Transport is aware of the depressions that continue to affect motorists along Garth Road, Princes Town, between the Naparima Mayaro and Guaracara Tabaquite Roads and is working with the Princes Town Regional Corporation to provide temporary relief to motorists.

Minister Rohan Sinanan Launches Heavy T Truck Inspection at the Caroni Licensing Office

On August 22, 2017, Minister of Works and Transport, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan officially introduced the new service of heavy truck inspection at the Caroni Licensing Office.  This new facility at Caroni will now relieve heavy truck inspection at the Port of Spain and San Fernando Licensing Offices.  Minister Sinanan shared, “An issue we have with traffic fluidity, and especially in Port of Spain is that Wrightson Road is inundated with heavy trucks along the way to and from inspection.  This relocation of the service will free-up the roads considerably.”

TRAFFIC LIGHTS CYCLE LENGTH ADJUSTED ON THE CHURCHILL ROOSEVELT HIGHWAY
 

The Traffic Management Branch (TMB) of the Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that it has adjusted the cycle length of traffic lights along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway (CRH) which include, but are not limited to the Piarco, Maloney, Mausica and O’Meara intersections, following a retiming exercise at traffic lights over the past week.
