Partial Opening of the Priority Bus Route (PBR)

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport has authorized the use of the Priority Bus Route (PBR) to all light motor vehicles from Abattoir Road, Port of Spain to Morvant Junction ONLY from Tuesday 16th May, 2017 until further notice.

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that authorization that was previously granted to Light Motor Vehicles to utilize the segment of the Priority Bus Route (PBR) from Abattoir Road to Morvant Junction today at 9:30a.m. has been rescinded, with immediate effect.

Major Construction Works Westbound Construction of the Beetham Highway

The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited in partnership with the Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise  the public (motorists/residents/pedestrians) that construction works on the southern section of Beetham Culvert #3, running across the Beetham Highway (located 700m west of the entrance to the Beetham Landfill), will commence on Friday 5th May, 2017 10:00pm and  is scheduled to end on MOnday 8th May, 2017 at 4AM.

A Segment of South Trunk Road, South Oropouche is Closed Off to Vehicular Traffic

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the public that the South Trunk Road has been closed off between St. Mary’s Village Main Road (North) and Oropouche Road (South) as of the afternoon of Thursday 13th April, 2017. The partial closure of the roadway is necessary to conduct repair works that was caused by a failure of a cylinder crossing.

Unemployment Relief Programme URP Intended to Provide Short Term Employment

The Ministry of Works and Transport acknowledges the protest staged by workers attached to the Unemployment Relief Programme (URP) in Clarke Road Junction, Penal earlier today on the issue of their perceived job loss, and wishes to reiterate that workers attached to the programme provide short-term employment, in accordance with the rotation principle and available job opportunities.
